Silicon-Rich Biochar Detoxify Multiple Heavy Metals in Wheat by Regulating Oxidative Stress and Subcellular Distribution of Heavy Metal

چکیده

Silicon is a quasi-essential trace nutrient for plant growth and frequently employed to remediate soils of heavy metal pollution in agriculture. However, silicon’s role mechanism reducing toxicity have not been well understood, especially multi-heavy metals such as cadmium, zinc, lead, arsenic (usually treated metal). In this study, the effects different silicon-rich materials (silicate, rice husk biochar (RHB), RHB + bentonite) on trait, antioxidant response, accumulation, distribution wheat grown two polluted by multiple (Cd, Zn, Pb, As) were investigated. The results revealed that addition enhanced growth, improved photosynthetic attributes leaf tissues, decreased contents Cd, As shoots grains. examination subcellular plants implied transferred intracellular soluble fractions cell walls, indicating reduction mobility plants. addition, application reduced oxidative damage downregulating response systems decreasing production malondialdehyde (MDA), ascorbic acid (AsA), glutathione (GSH). Moreover, fractionation analysis soil showed amendments could convert bioavailable into immobilized forms. With comparation materials, combined bentonite better metal-polluted promote production. effect silicate component was stressed paper but some potential benefits might arisen from other components biochar.

Natural radioactivity and heavy metal distribution in reservoirs in Ghana

The present paper has determined the radioactivity concentrations, which are due to natural occurrence of radionuclides along with heavy metal concentration in water, sediment, and fish from 2 reservoirs in Ghana. Heavy metal concentrations in all samples were generally within the WHO safe limits with the average activity concentrations of 238U, 232Th, and 40K in water being respectively 0.42±0...

Simultaneous removal of nitrate and heavy metals by iron metal.

Great attention should be paid now to simultaneously removing common pollutants, especially inorganic pollutants such as nitrate and heavy metals, as individual removal has been investigated extensively. Removing common pollutants simultaneously by iron metal is a very effective alternative method. Near neutral pH, heavy metals, such as copper and nickel, can be removed rapidly by iron metal, w...

Bioassessment of Heavy Metals in Wheat Crop from Soil and Dust in a Coal Mining Area

Coal mining and related industry can increase heavy metals (HMs) concentrations in soil, atmosphere and wheat, thereby posing metal-associated human health risk via food ingestion.  In this study, 58 samples of soil, wheat, and dust were collected from Xuzhou coal mine eastern China, six kinds of HMs Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, As and Cr were studied for their spatial distribution in wheat, enrichment in d...
